Zakaria Trade & Fair International , ASK Trade & Exhibitions Pvt Ltd and Bangladesh Garment Accessories & Packaging Manufacturers & Exporters Association (BGAPMEA) organizers this four day exposition briefed the media in presence of Abdul Kader Khan, President, BGAPMEA; Rafez Alam Chowdhury, Adviser, BGAPMEA; Nanda Gopal K, Director, ASK Trade and Exhibition Pvt. Ltd; Tipu Sultan Bhuian, CEO Zakaria Trade and Fair International; Mr. Hasanul Karim Tamiz, Senior Vice president, BGAPMEA; at a press conference at La Vinci Hotel in Dhaka on Monday.
Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi is expected to inaugurate the exposition as the chief guest while Salman F Rahman, Private Industry and Investment Advisor to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) President Dr Rubana Huq will join the event as special quests.
Meanwhile, Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun will join the closing ceremony and distribute awards to the top accessories exporters and the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) President Sheikh Fazle Fahim will join as special guest
The event spread over 9 Halls with the participation of 450 exhibitors from 25 countries will comprise 4 shows including 19th GARMENTECH Bangladesh-2020 to showcase latest apparel technology from Technology Leaders from across the world.

A Sub-event will also be held titled GARMENTECH DIALOGUE – a panel discussion on “Innovation & Value Addition in Bangladesh Textile Industry” and “AI & Automation; Myths: Its impact and Way forward” during the exposition on 17th January which will be managed by Textile Focus.
President of BGAPMEA Abdul Kader Khan said: “For a long time, we have urged the government to bring down the rate of corporate tax for the garment accessories and packaging manufacturers down to a tolerable level.”
Mr Nanda Gopal said, “As the RMG sector surges towards exports of USD 50 billion, Productivity & Value addition have become the important hurdles to be overcome. Value addition is the solution for higher price realization in view of rise in wages and operational costs. For the past 19 years GARMENTECH Bangladesh has been the technology destination for solutions related to Productivity, Value Addition, Compliance, Product Diversification etc., for the RMG sector of the country.”
He also added, “GARMENTECH Bangladesh has always striven towards getting the global technology closer to the door steps of the end user. This edition is not going to be any different. Global Leaders in Technology are geared to Showcase latest machinery related to Sewing, Finishing, Laundry, CAD/CAM, Allied machinery and Spares.”
Into its 11th edition International Yarn & Fabrics Sourcing Fair will have the latest collection of natural and synthetic yarn and fabric and its blends both for woven and knit sectors being showcased by overseas companies.
11th edition of GAP Expo-2020 will have largest collection of garment accessories and packaging used by the RMG industry to be showcased by leading companies from Bangladesh. Companies will be showcasing Garment Accessories, Packaging and related machinery including Labels, Zippers, Tags, Tapes, Thread, Ribbon, Buttons, Rivets, Laces, hooks, Transfer Film, paper, ink etc.
