3rd Bangladesh Int’l Garment & Textile Machinery & Allied Expo Kicked Off

opening-ceremony-1The 3rd Edition BIGTEX – Bangladesh Int’l Garment & Textile Machinery and 3 other Allied exhibitions started on 15th November 2018 at Capital, International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB), Dhaka. Hon’ble Commerce Minister – Mr. Tofail Ahmed, MP, inaugurated these exhibitions.

Targeting the entire Apparel industry, they have concurrent exhibitions as Bangladesh Int’l Print, Pack & Signage Expo, Bangladesh Int’l Fabric & Yarn Expo & Bangladesh Int’l Dyes & Chemical Expo. These exhibitions will play important role by showcasing latest machineries, technologies, dyes / chemicals, yarns, fabrics & will provide an opportunity to our experts, engineers & technicians to have a practical knowledge of the recent technological advancements available, without going to abroad.

Other Special guests in the ceremony was Mr. Faruque Hassan, Honorary Consul General of Greece to Bangladesh and Senior Vice President, BGMEA; Mr. Mansoor Ahmed, First Vice President, BKMEA; Mr. Muhammad Ayub, President, BIAA; Mr. Syed Nurul Islam, Chairman & CEO, Well Group; Mr. Md. Mustafizur Rahman, FCA, Chairman (Export & Market Development Committee), Bangladesh Paper Mills Association and DMD, Bashundhara Group; Mr. Hasan Murad Chowdhury, Head of Business, Paper Leaf.

 

The Associate Partner of this exhibition is BKMEA , Well Group is the Co Partner, Paperleaf is the Powered by Partner, Foursource is the Sourcing Partner, Bangladesh Garments Accessories & Packaging Manufacturers & Exporters Association (BGAPMEA) and Bangladesh Indenting Agents Association(BIAA) are Supporting this expo.

Mr. Ahmed, CEO of Redcarpet365 Ltd mentioned that the expo will have almost 180 stalls with products from 12 countries including Bangladesh, China, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Portugal, Taiwan, Turkey, USA.

The Bangladesh government has set the export target at $44 billion for FY19. For the Readymade Garment (RMG) sector, the government has set a target of $32.69 billion, amounting to 6.78% growth. Of the total, $16.15 billion is expected from Knitwear and $16.53 billion from woven products. To achieve this target we need to focus more on value added items & new Markets for export and needs proper Machinery, Raw Materials, Yarn, Fabric, Dyes & Chemicals in regular basis.

Ms Fatematuj Johra, Director Marketing – Redcarpet365 Ltd said, these exhibitions will play an important role by showcasing latest machineries, technologies, dyes / chemicals, yarns, fabrics available for Bangladesh on display with Manufacturers / Suppliers from the world available to our Industry at the doorstep.

These Exhibitions will also no doubt provide an opportunity to our experts, engineers & technicians in the field of textile to have a practical knowledge of the recent technological advancements available, without going abroad.
