Desk Report: Sustainable Apparel Forum (SAF) will be held in Dhaka, beginning from May 10. The full day program hosted for the 3rd time by Bangladesh Apparel Exchange will take place alongside the flagship event Bangladesh Denim Expo. SAF will share information on sustainability issues in the apparel industry.
The SAF aims to enable Bangladesh to progress as a responsible sourcing destination on the global map by accelerating the momentum of sustainability within the industry through education and awareness to reduce the knowledge gap.
The forum will be inaugurated jointly by Prime minister’s adviser on power, energy and mineral resources Towfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury. Md. Atiqul Islam, Mayor, Dhaka North City Corporation, BGMEA President Faruque Hassan; His Excellency Anne Gerard van Leeuwen, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Bangladesh, Md. Mohiuddin Rubel, Managing Director of Bangladesh Apparel Exchange (BAE), Additional Managing Director of Denim Expert Ltd, and also a Director of BGMEA, Stephanie Thiers-Ratcliffe, Director, European Brands and Retailers at Cotton Council International will be present at the opening session.
Prominent speakers from various parts of the world will share their views on sustainability and the importance of meeting customer’s expectations at the event which will also host various specialized plenary session and green growth exhibition.
