
A delegation of the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan visited the United States. The main goal of the visit was to promote local products under the “Made in Uzbekistan” brand, expand export potential, and develop bilateral trade and economic relations. As part of this visit, 25 local textile enterprises participated in the international exhibitions Texworld NYC, Apparel Sourcing USA, and Home Textiles Sourcing Expo (New York City). Within the framework of the exhibitions, negotiations were held with leading companies such as Bunzl plc, Levi Strauss & Co., PVH Corp., G-III Apparel Group, Kontoor Brands, American Eagle Outfitters, Tapestry Inc., Macy’s, American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA) , United States Fashion Industry Association (USFIA), Oritain and others. The meetings discussed the possibilities of introducing Uzbek manufacturers to the US market and placing orders based on the sourcing mechanism. During the visit, representatives of the ISSV held a meeting with the US Department of Commerce. The issues of developing a mechanism to expand trade and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and the US, reduce trade barriers, and activate investments were considered. The possibilities of placing Uzbek products, including textiles, construction materials, electrical appliances, and agricultural products in large retail chains such as Amazon, Walmart, Whole Foods Market, Bloomingdale’s, and The Home Depot were also discussed. During negotiations with representatives of the CLDP (Trade Law Development Program) under the US Department of Commerce, it was agreed to organize webinars and seminars for Uzbek companies on certification and packaging in accordance with US standards. At a meeting with the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the US Cotton Association, issues of supplying US cotton to Uzbekistan within the framework of the GSM-102 program, increasing the credit limit, and launching the “Made from US Cotton” initiative were discussed. The Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan continues systematic work to introduce national products to the international market and increase export potential.
