He informed that the international summit, held from 7 to 10 April at the InterContinental Hotel in Dhaka, welcomed 710 attendees at its opening ceremony—including 415 foreign delegates from 50 countries and 295 local participants. Over the course of the four-day event, around 3,500 participants joined breakout sessions, roundtable discussions, and various other activities.

A total of 130 expert panelists took part in the summit, providing valuable guidance on investment opportunities, policy support, and innovative approaches through Startup Connect and breakout sessions. Mr. Chowdhury expressed deep gratitude to the summit’s partners—European Union, UNDP, Citi NA, HSBC, BGMEA, Embassy of the Netherlands, LightCastle Partners, Inspira Management Consulting, SAJIDA Foundation, and EBL.

Demonstrating strong investor interest, Mr. Chowdhury said, “Throughout these few days, numerous local and international investors gathered in the corridors of InterContinental Dhaka for informal discussions. In addition, around 150 official bilateral meetings were conducted.”

He expressed optimism about the high-level government participation at the summit, stating, “The active involvement of the Commerce Advisor, the Prime Minister’s Special Envoy, the Governor of Bangladesh Bank, the Chairman of the National Board of Revenue, and other senior officials of the government reinforced the importance of the summit.”

Mr. Chowdhury further noted that during the summit, two major investment declarations totaling BDT 3,100 crore were announced—by Handa Industry and ShopUp.

Additionally, six significant international Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed, which are expected to accelerate Bangladesh’s economic progress. These include:

  1. Bangladesh’s accession to the NASA Artemis Accords,
  2. A Power Purchase Agreement between PRAN and H&M Group (financed by IFC),
  3. A tripartite agreement between ILO, UNDP, and BIDA on responsible investment and improved working environments,
  4. A renewable energy cooperation agreement between Solar Power Europe and BSREA,
  5. The Bangladesh-Netherlands Seed Partnership (Seed Netherlands and Bangladesh Seed Association),
  6. A Greenhouse Impact Clusters agreement between Dutch Greenhouse Delta and ACI.

At the end of the press briefing, Mr. Chowdhury expressed sincere thanks to the event partner Integrated Marketing Services Ltd., the marketing and communications partner High Voltage Ltd., and the core event partners—World Bank, FICCI, and UNDP—without whose support the summit’s success would not have been possible.

He also extended heartfelt appreciation to all government and private media houses, television channels, daily newspapers, online news portals, and respected journalists from print and electronic media. Their tireless efforts played a crucial role in spreading the message of the summit both nationally and internationally, significantly increasing investor interest and engagement.
