Bangladesh’s ready-made garment (RMG) industry is often recognized for its global market leadership, contributing sigificnatly to the country’s export earnings and empowering millions of workers, particularly women. Yet, beyond production lines and supply chains, our industry tells a story of unparalleled commitment to people, culture, and sustainability, a narrative often which remains untold.

A shining testament to this vision is the Zebun Nessa Mosque, a breathtaking architectural masterpiece built by the IDS Group. Designed as a “breathing pavilion,” this mosque stands as a sanctuary amidst the bustling industrial outskirts of Dhaka, offering a rare synthesis of spiritual tranquility and architectural innovation. The Mosque offers the workers and the community a place of peace and reflection amidst their daily lives. More than just a place of worship, it symbolizes the deep-rooted care, trust, and harmony that the RMG industry fosters between entrepreneurs and workers. Congratulations to Mr. Mohd. Idris Shakur, Chairman of IDS Group, for his vision and commitment to people, culture, and architectural excellence, creating a landmark that blends spirituality with innovation. A special appreciation to architect Saiqa Iqbal Meghna, whose extraordinary design has turned this mosque into a masterpiece of light, space, and harmony.
The Mosque has been recognized as the first Bangladeshi landmark in TIME’s World’s Greatest Places 2025, celebrating its architectural brilliance and cultural significance. Beyond being recognized as TIME’s World’s Greatest Place 2025, it has also received several prestigious architectural awards, celebrating its groundbreaking design and cultural significance.
This is just one of many extraordinary initiatives led by our industry, going far beyond apparel manufacturing, embracing worker well-being, sustainability, and social responsibility. From LEED-certified green factories to pioneering waste recycling and renewable energy adoption, Bangladesh’s RMG sector is shaping a future where business and humanity thrive together.
