aamra and Lectra SA, France jointly organized a seminar called “DEGUMMING-2018” on December 9, 2018 at the BUTEX (Bangladesh University of Textiles) auditorium. The event served as a bridge between corporate and academic institutions.
Dignitaries from academia included Prof. Engr. Mashud Ahmed-Vice Chancellor- BUTEX, Prof. Dr. Moshiur Rahman Khan- Faculty of Textile Fashion Design & Apparel-BUTEX and the event was hosted by Prof. Md. Abul Kashem – Head, Dept. of Apparel Engineering at BUTEX. Representing the corporate side at the seminar were Special Guest, Engr. Shafiqur Rahman- Managing Director of Hams Group and Guest of Honor for the event, Mr. Sohel Ahmed – Chief Operating Officer of aamra resources ltd.
Professor Md. Abul Kashem inaugurated the event by welcoming everyone to the seminar. The special guest Engr. Shafiqur Rahman explained how technology development can bring revolutionary changes. Mr. Sohel Ahmed has enlightened what aamra companies are, what is the vision and mission of the company. Mr. Shamim Masudul Haque – Head of Fashionology division of aamra resources ltd. and Brand Manager of Lectra in Bangladesh introduced “Lectra 4.0” and explained how “Lectra 4.0” can meet new challenges through new software and equipment which are already compatible with “Industry 4.0” principles.
Prof. Engr. Mashud Ahmed express his deep appreciation to aamra and Lectra for this unique initiative and revealed that “this initiative will be a remarkable moment to the apparel world of Bangladesh”. Considering this initiative as an extra ordinary day in the history of BUTEX, Prof. Md. Abul Kashem declared 9th December as official Apparel Day. aamra believes this seminar will not only develop the future leaders of the apparel industry from the root level but also equip them with necessary skills required to transform the future of Bangladesh.
