Abdur Rashid, Country Manager, SGS Bangladesh Limited has been elected executive committee member of the Foreign Investors’ Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) for the period of 2022-2023. A total 15-member strong executive committee was elected. The announcement was made at FICCI’s 58th annual general meeting (AGM), held recently in Dhaka, said a press release.
Chief Executive Officer of Standard Chartered Bank Naser Ezaz Bijoy and Managing Director of United Dhaka Tobacco Co Ltd Neil Coupland has been elected president and vice president of the Foreign Investors Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) for the period of 2022-2023.
The Foreign Investors’ Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) was established on the 1st of July 1963 in the port city of Chittagong under the name and style of the “Agrabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry” (‘Agrabad’ being the name of the commercial hub of the city) with the initiative of the foreign companies located in and around Chittagong. It may be mentioned here that, at that point of time, most of the foreign companies, had their establishments located in that region of the country.
