Aditya Birla Group to be a reliable, value adding partner for the EU technical textiles market

Aditya Birla Group has reinforced India’s growing dominance in high performance textiles at Techtextil 2026 in Frankfurt, showcased an integrated and innovation driven portfolio aligned with global industrial demand.

Exhibitor feedback from Kapil Agrawal, Business Head – Textiles, Acrylic Fibre and Overseas Spinning at Aditya Birla Group. Read the full conversation-

Textile Focus; Could you please share with us the current scenario of the textile sector?

Kapil Agrawal: The global textile sector is undergoing a structural shift. While conventional textiles remain important, growth is increasingly pivoting toward value added, performance driven applications driven by automotive, infrastructure, healthcare, defence, and industrial demand. Cost led commodity models are facing pressure, while application specific, certified and engineered materials are gaining relevance.

Within this transformation, technical textiles are emerging as a key growth engine, offering resilience against consumer cycles and stronger alignment with regulatory and industrial demand. Aditya Birla Group reflects this transition well leveraging its long standing textile expertise while steadily expanding its presence across multiple technical textile segments, positioning itself at the intersection of scale, material science, and application relevance.

Textile Focus: As a key exhibitor at Techtextil, what have you showcased and how was the feedback from global buyers?

Kapil Agrawal: At Techtextil Frankfurt, Aditya Birla Group showcased a focused portfolio of high performance technical textile materials built around inherent performance, scalability, and application relevance.
A key part of this offering is our portfolio of advanced spun yarn blends of high-performance fibres such as aramids, modacrylics etc., including IFR oriented constructions. Produced using ring, open end, and vortex spinning technologies – customized as per requirement, these yarns are engineered for applications across safety wear, firefighting, and industrial protection, where consistent flame resistance, durability, and wearer comfort are critical.
The showcase also featured tyre cord yarns and fabrics for mobility applications, along with high tenacity yarns for ropes, slings, and anti cut gloves, addressing demanding requirements around strength, durability, fatigue resistance, and worker safety across industrial and commercial environments. These offerings demonstrated the Group’s depth in engineering materials for load bearing and safety critical end uses.
A key highlight was Aditya Birla Group’s 100% Recyclable Nylon Tyre Cord Fabric (NTCF) from Century Enka. Manufactured entirely from recycled nylon waste, this solution achieves the same mechanical strength and durability benchmarks as conventional tyre cord fabrics, reinforcing the message that circularity and high performance can coexist in mobility applications.
Feedback from global buyers was strongly positive and notably mature. Discussions moved beyond individual products to themes such as quality consistency, long term supply reliability, certification readiness, and co development capability. Many buyers expressed interest in deeper engagement, underscoring the relevance of Aditya Birla Group as a credible, performance focused partner in the evolving global technical textiles landscape.

Textile Focus: What’s your plan to strengthen collaboration and technical support for the EU market?

Kapil Agrawal: The EU market places a strong and formal emphasis on performance validation, certifications, traceability, and ongoing technical collaboration, making the supplier–customer relationship far more partnership driven than transactional. Aditya Birla Group is strengthening its engagement with European customers through closer technical interaction, application specific product development, and deeper alignment with EU regulatory and compliance frameworks.
A key focus is on working alongside customers early in the development cycle — supporting co development, testing, and specification alignment to ensure materials meet both performance expectations and regulatory requirements. In parallel, the Group continues to invest in quality systems, certification readiness, and documentation capabilities.
Overall, the approach is centred on building long term technical partnerships, underpinned by consistent quality delivery, transparent compliance, and a strong support framework — enabling Aditya Birla Group to be a reliable, value adding partner for the EU technical textiles market.
