Akij Textile Mills Ltd., one of Bangladesh’s prominent textile manufacturers, has joined the growing TRUECYCLED community, marking another step forward in the company’s commitment to textile recycling, resource efficiency and circular production.
The company recently received the TRUECYCLED certificate, recognizing its efforts to transform recycled textile fibers into high-quality yarns and finished products through advanced recycling and spinning processes.
With 27 years of experience in the textile industry, Akij Textile Mills has progressively expanded its capabilities from spinning into yarn dyeing, weaving, and fabric dyeing and finishing. This integrated approach has enabled the company to operate as a single-source supplier, offering products ranging from yarn to finished woven fabrics for the export-oriented apparel industry. The company is also recognized as one of Bangladesh’s major specialized producers of fancy and sustainable yarns.
Under its recycling brand RECLONE, Akij Textile Mills converts textile waste into a diverse range of recycled yarns and products. Through the TRUECYCLED approach, combined with Trützschler’s expertise across the spinning preparation process, the company focuses on maximizing fiber utilization while maintaining consistent yarn quality.
Akij Textile Mills’ current recycled yarn portfolio includes 100% cotton grey ring yarns containing up to 50% recycled cotton, available in counts from Ne 10 to Ne 40. Its 100% cotton mélange ring yarns contain up to 40% recycled cotton and are available in counts from Ne 16 to Ne 34.
The company also produces 100% cotton grey rotor yarns with recycled cotton content of up to 60%, available in counts from Ne 7 to Ne 20. In addition, its cotton/polyester grey rotor yarns contain up to 80% recycled cotton combined with recycled polyester, with counts ranging from Ne 7 to Ne 20.
The TRUECYCLED certification reflects Akij Textile Mills’ ongoing efforts to strengthen circularity within textile manufacturing by converting waste fibers into commercially viable yarns and products. The company’s recycled materials are used across a broad range of applications, including fabrics, garments and everyday textile products such as backpacks.
The certificate handover also brought together representatives from Akij Textile Mills and Trützschler Group. The group included Md. The collaboration and certification highlight the growing importance of recycled fibers and advanced spinning technologies in Bangladesh’s textile industry, as manufacturers increasingly focus on resource efficiency, sustainable production and circular textile solutions.
