AMANN Bangladesh Ltd., a prominent global manufacturer of top-tier sewing and embroidery threads, marked its 10th anniversary of spearheading sustainability initiatives with a celebratory event on April 22, 2024, Monday at the Sheraton Hotel in the capital city.

During the celebratory program, distinguish guests from the German embassy, textile industry, and AMANN Group leadership gathered to commend the AMANN Bangladesh team. Over the past decade, AMANN has played a vital role as a partner to the country’s RMG sector, offering comprehensive solutions that prioritize innovation, performance and sustainability. In the program, Md. Rokonuzzaman, Country Managing Director of AMANN Bangladesh Ltd., expressed in his welcoming address, “AMANN’s commitment to sustainability, value enhancement, productivity, and quality threads for the RMG and leather industry has significantly contributed to uplift Bangladesh’s RMG and leather sectors.” He also extended gratitude to the global team, local partner, customers, other stakeholders and the AMANN Bangladesh team for their contributions.

Taking into account these factors, and recognizing Bangladesh’s potential as the upcoming hub of the RMG industry due to its expanding perspective, labor force, and infrastructure, AMANN made strategic investments in the country to expand its presence in Chattogram region also. Currently, AMANN Bangladesh serves approximately 1000+ garment factories, supplying threads to over 100 global brands, as stated by Mr. Rokonuzzaman.
“We feel proud to say that we are very successful in the Bangladesh market within 4 to 5 years of our operation. We’ve successfully reached the majority of customers in Bangladesh, and they recognize AMANN as synonymous with quality and innovation. We uphold strict standards for lead times and product quality to ensure customer satisfaction.” – says Mr. Rokonuzzaman.
In 2010, AMANN initiated a joint venture agreement with Standard Group, one of the largest RMG producers in Bangladesh. Subsequently, in 2013, AMANN Bangladesh established its office and factory setup, commercial production commencing from late 2013.
Engr. Md. Atiqur Rahman, Chairman of Standard Group and Board member of AMANN Bangladesh Ltd, expressed, “Today marks a significant milestone for us. Despite numerous challenges, AMANN Bangladesh has emerged as a trusted and reliable supplier in the Bangladesh market.”

During the program, Jan-Rolf Janowski, Deputy Head of Mission at the German Embassy in Dhaka, remarked, “This is a significant milestone for AMANN. The Bangladesh government seeks increased investment from Germany.” He also commended AMANN Bangladesh’s decade-long journey, stating, “We believe this is the right time to explore further growth opportunities with robust local support.”

In the event, Peter Morgalla, Chairman and Board member of AMANN Bangladesh and Chief Operating Officer of AMANN Group, emphasized, “Since 1854, AMANN has stood as a foremost global producer of top-tier sewing threads, embroidery threads, and Smart Yarns, ranging from universal to highly technical varieties.” He highlighted AMANN Group’s continual strategic focus on Bangladesh, recognizing it as one of the most rapidly expanding markets. Mr. Morgalla announced plans for a second factory in Chattogram, affirming the commitment to expanding their business presence in the region.

Amann Bangladesh Limited will build factories to produce sewing threads, embroidery threads, and smart yarns at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpa Nagar with an investment of $25.92 million. This factory will employ around 600 people in this project.
During the event, AMANN Bangladesh honored employees who have dedicated a decade of service to the company, celebrating their pivotal roles in driving innovation and achieving notable business outcomes.
