On 16 August 2026, the American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh (AmCham) hosted its flagship luncheon, “Building Investors’ Confidence: From Policy Reform to Effective Implementation,” at the InterContinental Dhaka. The event brought together government officials, policymakers, business leaders, investors, and AmCham members to discuss ways to strengthen Bangladesh’s investment climate.

AmCham President Mr. Syed Mohammad Kamal emphasized that effective and consistent implementation of policy reforms is essential to transforming Bangladesh’s strong economic fundamentals into sustained investor confidence and attracting new investment.
Mr. Md. Mahbub ur Rahman, Chief Executive Officer of HSBC, highlighted the importance of stability, security, and predictability in building investor confidence. He also noted that stronger trade facilitation could help unlock greater investment opportunities.
The Honorable Finance Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury MP reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to creating a more business-friendly environment through deregulation, tax reform, and improved trade processes. He stressed that policy predictability and consistency are crucial to strengthening investor confidence.
The luncheon concluded with an interactive Q&A session with members of the business community, focusing on Bangladesh’s economic outlook and the reforms needed to encourage greater private investment and support emerging businesses.
