The American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh (AmCham), in collaboration with the US Embassy in Bangladesh, hosted a commemorative event in Dhaka on Saturday to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Independence of the United States.

The event, held at the Sheraton Dhaka, marked 250 years since the adoption of the Declaration of Independence and celebrated America’s legacy of freedom, democracy and innovation, according to an AmCham statement.
The programme also reaffirmed the strong partnership between the United States and Bangladesh, with a focus on expanding economic cooperation and strengthening people-to-people ties.
Among those present were AmCham President Syed Mohammad Kamal, US Ambassador Brent T Christensen, members of the AmCham Executive Committee, senior government officials, diplomats, business leaders and AmCham members.
According to the statement, the gathering reflected the depth and diversity of the Bangladesh-US partnership and underscored the shared commitment of the two countries to further strengthening bilateral relations.
