Apparel export to EU increases by 14.29% during July-Feb of FY23

As per the statistics of Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), our apparel export to European Union was US$ 15.72 billion during July-February of fiscal year 2022-23. During this period our export to EU increased by 14.29% compared to the same period of fiscal year 2021-22.

Among the major markets in EU region, our export to Germany has declined by 1.03% year-over-year during the mentioned period and reached US$ 4.62 billion.

Our RMG export to France and Spain were US$ 1.89 billion and US$ 2.35 billion with 27.65% and 18.79% year-over-year growth respectively. On the other hand, our export to Bulgaria and Poland have shown negative year-on-year growth.
During the mentioned period, our export to USA has declined by 2.87% year-on-year. At the same time, our apparel export to Canada and UK have shown 20.05% and 14.52% year-on-year positive growth respectively.

During the first eight months of fiscal year 2022-23, our export to the USA, UK and Canada were US$ 5.68 billion, US$ 3.36 billion, and US$ 980 million respectively. In July-February of fiscal year 2022-23, Bangladesh’s apparel export to non-traditional market also grew by 35.02% and reached US$ 5.69 billion. Among the non-traditional markets.
