Recently, Team Textile Focus had an insightful discussion with Md. Monirul Islam, Managing Director of Automatic Sewing Systems BD Ltd., shared valuable perspectives on the role of advanced machinery in modern garment production. He highlighted the SIP Italy machines, renowned for their high precision and automation, particularly in the manufacturing of jeans and trousers. These machines are designed to reduce labor dependency, increase production efficiency, and ensure consistent quality, helping Bangladeshi garment factories stay competitive in the global apparel industry. A brief discussion is given below for our respected readers-
Market Overview and Investment Trends
In 2025, the capital machinery business in Bangladesh grew at a slightly slower pace compared to 2024. This was mainly due to current market conditions, in which many garment owners have been cautious about investing in high-end automated machines. Most factories have focused on replacing standard equipment, like single-needle or two-needle overlock machines, rather than making significant investments in advanced automation. Despite this, the market remained stable, and factories continued updating their technology day by day to improve efficiency.
Focus on Automation and Customization
Our approach has been to focus on automation. We bring in advanced Sip-Italy machines from Italy and Germany, specifically designed for applications like jeans and formal trousers. These machines require minimal human intervention, and we customize them to meet each customer’s workflow and operator needs. By working closely with maintenance managers and operators, we ensure that machines are operator-friendly, easy to handle, and aligned with daily production practices. Many of our customers have expressed satisfaction with these customized solutions, and installations are running smoothly with minimal downtime.

Remote Monitoring and Technological Support
We also implement IoT systems that enable our technicians in Bangladesh and Italy to monitor and troubleshoot machines remotely. This has significantly reduced the time needed to identify and fix problems, and machines can now report errors directly, allowing them to return to production quickly.
Looking Ahead: Automation and Future Growth
As the garment industry grows, the availability of skilled operators is decreasing due to generational shifts and changing workforce patterns. This makes automation and innovation even more critical for maintaining productivity and efficiency. Looking ahead to 2026, we have a strong pipeline of automated and robotic systems capable of operating without human intervention. Several of these machines are already being used in Bangladesh, and more are expected to arrive soon. Of course, challenges remain, such as high interest rates, banking limitations, and gas shortages, which affect investment and factory expansion. Despite these obstacles, we remain committed to continuously updating and improving garment automation technologies, offering better solutions, and staying optimistic about near-term growth.
