On December 5, 2024, the Dr. M A Wazed Miah Textile Engineering College in Pirganj, Rangpur, served as the grand stage for the highly anticipated “Art & Photography Exhibition 2024.” Organized by the Rangtuli-Dwmtec Cultural Club in collaboration with Muhurta, this event epitomized a unifying celebration of artistic talent across the nation, featuring over 150 participants from eight prominent textile engineering campuses.
The exhibition was honorably graced by esteemed guests, including Professor Dr. Tuhin Wadud from Begum Rokeya University, as well as faculty members Kabir Hossain and Md Shafiqul Islam from the host institution. Their presence not only added prestige to the event but also highlighted the importance of academic support in fostering creativity among students.
Spanning from November 7 to December 5, the exhibition was meticulously structured into two main segments: Photography and Art. The Art segment was further categorized into Calligraphy, Pencil Sketch, and Canvas Painting. This comprehensive format provided varied platforms for participants to exhibit their skills and express their creative visions, reinforcing the event’s intent to cultivate a vibrant cultural atmosphere across the participating institutions.
The champion of the Photography segment was Abu Raihan from DWMTEC, followed closely by Angkur Kumar Paul from JTEC and MD Israel Qadir also from DWMTEC, who secured the second and third places, respectively. In the Art segment, Rafiatun Jannat from DWMTEC triumphed, with Aditi Roy from CTEC and Tahmina Ema, also from DWMTEC, taking the second and third spots.
This year’s exhibition was not merely a competition but a celebration of creativity that sought to strengthen the bonds among students from diverse campuses. By showcasing artistic talent and fostering collaboration, the “Art & Photography Exhibition 2024” stands as a testament to the collective spirit and potential of the textile engineering community in Bangladesh. The success of this event promises to inspire future endeavors that can further enrich the cultural landscape of our educational institutions.
