Bangladesh aims at rising export earnings to 41 billion dollars for the fiscal year 2020-21, including 33,79 billion dollars from exports of ready-made clothing items. According to the details published by the Export Promotion Board, export earnings for Bangladesh rose annually by 2.58% to almost $10 billion in the first quarter of the 2020-21 fiscal year. In July-September this country earned $9.896.84 million in the same period, compared with $9.647.99 million a year earlier.
Of its overall sales, over the July-September duration of the current fiscal year, the country ‘s income from ready-made products, including knitwear and woven, amounted to $8.13 billion. Exports of knitwear clothing rose by 7.04% to $4.46 billion during this first year, relative to the same period of the last fiscal year, while export of woven clothing decreased by 5.78% to 3.66 billion dollars.
After severe blows in the final fiscal year due to the impacts of the COVID-19, the country’s export sector falls back to normal. In the last financial year 2019-20 its export sales fell by about 17% to $33.67 billion, the lowest since 2014-15.
