80 exhibitors from 12 countries took part in the show

In a significant development, the 15th edition of the Bangladesh Denim Expo has kicked off with great enthusiasm in Dhaka. This prestigious event is taking place at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) and has garnered immense attention as Bangladesh shines as the world’s foremost denim exporter.
With the participation of 80 exhibitors from 12 different countries, this two-day expo has drawn in an impressive number of attendees, totaling 5,000 visitors from both domestic and international regions. Bangladesh, known for its remarkable position as the second-largest apparel exporting country worldwide, takes center stage as the largest denim exporter to the European Union (EU) and the United States (USA).
During the inauguration of the expo, Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi highlighted the pivotal role played by the Bangladesh Denim Expo in boosting the country’s denim export industry. He emphasized how this event has significantly contributed to the remarkable success of Bangladesh’s denim exports on the global stage.
Ziaur Rahman, Country Manager for Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Africa at H&M, shared an inspiring commitment. He announced H&M’s initiative to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by an impressive 56 percent by 2030, primarily by working with the factories that supply their goods.
Prominent figures from the industry, including Faruque Hassan, President of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA); Md Siddiqur Rahman, former BGMEA President; SM Mannan Kochi, Senior Vice President of BGMEA; and Mostafiz Uddin, the Founder and CEO of Bangladesh Apparel Exchange (BAE), were also present at the inauguration. Their presence underscores the significance of the Bangladesh Denim Expo as a pivotal platform for industry leaders to collaborate and drive positive change.
This expo not only showcases Bangladesh’s remarkable achievements in denim production but also highlights the commitment of the country’s industry leaders towards sustainability and innovation.
