Shah Rayeed Chowdhury, Director of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), represented Bangladesh at the prestigious Global Fashion Conference 2025, which began yesterday (16 November 2025) in Humen Town, Dongguan, Guangzhou, China.
Shah Rayeed Chowdhury highlighted the remarkable strides made by Bangladesh’s garment industry, particularly in the areas of workplace safety, social compliance, and environmental sustainability. He emphasized how transformative industry initiatives and strong commitment to responsible manufacturing have elevated “Made in Bangladesh” into a respected and trusted brand in the global apparel market.
This year’s conference is being held under the theme “Fashion Transformation: Coexistence in Diversity,” focusing on the opportunities created by the new wave of technological advancement and industrial transformation reshaping the global fashion landscape.
The Global Fashion Conference (GFC) is recognized as a leading international platform for dialogue, collaboration, and knowledge exchange within the global textile and apparel industry. Its mission is to promote international cooperation, drive innovation, foster sustainability, and support the flow of new technologies and emerging trends that will shape the future of fashion.
Keynote presentations included an address by Sun Ruizhe, President of the China National Textile and Apparel Council (CNTAC), on Fashion Transformation: Coexistence in Diversity, and a presentation by Professor Ma Zhaoyuan on Human-Machine Collaboration and Leadership in Digital Intelligence.
Renowned international designers — including Jeff Banks, British Fashion Designer, Knight Commander of The British Empire Creator of JEFF BANKS Label; Joshua Scacheri, Design Director of Gieves & Hawkes; Christophe Blondin-Péchabrier; Fabio Del Bianco, Design Director of Tod’s Menswear; Chen Yu, Founder & Design Director of Chen Yu STUDIO; and Chen Peng, Founder of CHENPENG Brand, — also shared their perspectives on current and emerging trends shaping the global fashion industry.
The conference brought together representatives from leading textile and apparel associations from Pakistan, India, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, and Egypt, facilitating insightful discussions on modernization, collaboration, and inclusive growth within the global fashion ecosystem.
