Bangladesh Showcasing Global Leather Excellence in 19th Cairo Int’l Leather Fair 2025

Leading Bangladeshi leather, footwear and leather goods companies such A.S Leather, Loretta Leather, Al Madina, Gardenia Footwear, and Nobabee Footware has participated in the premier international leather and accessories exhibition, the 19th Cairo International Leather & Shoes Fair 2025. The event has been taking place from January 23-25, 2025 at Cairo International Convention Center (CICC), Egypt where Bangladesh is being represented at Pavilion # A52 titled “ Meet Bangladesh” to promote leather and footwear sector.

This Meet Bangladesh Sourcing Show (MBS) is introduced by Export Competitiveness for Jobs (EC4J) Project under the ministry of commerce financed by World Bank to showcase the eminent leather, footwear (leather and non-leather) and leather goods sector of Bangladesh. The primary objective of EC4J project is to strengthen export market linkages for potential leather and footwear sectors by showcasing Bangladesh as a credible sourcing destination.

Bangladesh is a lucrative destination for global buyer community having competitive workforce boosting export, having duty-free market access to developed countries, being an established sourcing destination and by having availability of linkage industries. With the increase of footwear exports, Bangladesh has been ranked as the top ten producers worldwide. Bangladesh’s leather, leather goods, and footwear industries’ exports reached to  $2b. Key exports include bags, belts, wallets, and leather and non-leather footwear, with major markets in Europe,  USA and Asia. Approximately 60% of Bangladesh’s leather and leather products are exported abroad. The leather footwear export value amounted to $480m in 2023-2024.

The project EC4J will have a pavillion in Istanbul Toy Fair 2025 at Booth Number-1116 from February 25-28 to showcase the plastic toy industry of Bangladesh. The month after that EC4J will be participating in Comex Singapore 2025 at Booth Number-8403 scheduled from 13-March 16, 2025 with delegates of Electronic Manufacturers of Bangladesh. On April they will be showcasing the medical equipment and Personal Protective Equipment sector of Bangladesh in Japan MedTec 2025 at Booth Number -2304 scheduled from 9-11 April, 2025.
