Bangladesh has once again proven its resilience and competitive strength in the global apparel arena — recording an impressive 26.6% growth in apparel exports to the United States between 2015 and 2024, according to data from the U.S. Office of Textiles and Apparel (OTEXA).

Key Insights:

  • While overall U.S. apparel imports fell by 5.3%, Bangladesh’s exports rose sharply, defying global trends.
  • China’s exports* to the U.S. dropped 18.36%, but Vietnam (+32.96%) and India (+34.13%) saw significant gains.
  • Bangladesh also achieved a 7.3% increase in unit prices, reflecting steady progress toward higher-value production.

Experts note that this growth underscores Bangladesh’s expanding capabilities in quality, reliability, and value-driven apparel manufacturing, even amid global trade slowdowns and shifting sourcing strategies.

As Bangladesh continues to upgrade its manufacturing capacity, focus on sustainability, and enhance design and innovation capabilities, the nation stands well-positioned to capture greater market share in the U.S. and beyond.
