Bangladesh’s readymade garment (RMG) sector hopes for a better 2025 after experiencing challenges and hurdles throughout 2024, redefining its resilience against all odds. Industry insiders were optimistic that 2025 would improve as the global retail market was also improving.

Moreover, the country’s manufacturers took several measures, such as branding, product diversification and workplace safety improvement, which may expedite exports.A better 2025OurWestern buyers began returning to Bangladesh as inflationary pressures eased in their respective countries. Moreover, exports in 2024 also indicated a brighter 2025 as the trends remain positive despite fierce nationwide movement and political changeover.“If we can reduce corruption and resolve customs and NBR-related issues, 2025 will be a good year for us. Inflation has started decreasing gradually in our major destinations, mainly in Europe and America,Consequently, there is a possibility of increasing sales in the retail market, which impacts work orders.“Buyers are always confident in us due to circularity, green factories, workplace safety, etc.

If the global economy turns around, we will benefit from it,”In conclusion, the global RMG industry is on a strong growth trajectory, driven by trends such as sustainability efforts, corporate responsibility, and changing consumer preferences. Understanding these dynamics is essential for stakeholders aiming to thrive in the evolving RMG landscape. In terms of product innovation and sustainability, there have been some changes, along with new regulatory requirements.

By 2026, the European Union will implement intelligence regulations, and by 2030, we will face a minimum 40% carbon emission reduction target, which is a significant challenge. Altogether, our industry faces several challenges as well as opportunities.

One way to overcome these challenges is through policy-wise adjustments and individual efforts. On a policy level, individual factories must meet the European Union’s requirements. Nearly every industry will need to meet fiber recycling, water recycling, and carbon emission reduction requirements and achieve these targets. If we can produce more medium- and high-range products, export rates will gradually increase. Currently, some orders are going outside the country, but this is only temporary due to the unstable situation.

As the industry gradually stabilizes, I believe buyers will return to their original plans and strategies. Additionally, there are certain laws and regulations from the government and some trade bodies, which I view positively.

Over the last five years, Bangladesh has also developed significantly in denim production, particularly in innovation and high-end products compared to other sectors. Lastly To improve the apparel sector, We  must develop our manpower and culture
