On 18th September, 2024, BASIS hosted an insightful meeting with the Embassy of the Republic of Korea at the BASIS Boardroom. The meeting aimed at expanding collaboration between the two nations, chaired by Mr. Russell T. Ahmed, President, BASIS.
The BASIS delegation included Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Fakhrul Hasan, Vice President (Finance), Mr. Mir Shahrukh Islam, Director, BASIS, Mr. AKM Ahmedul Islam BABU, Chairman, BASIS Japan Desk, and Ms. Sumitra Sarker, Executive, Trade Facilitation, BASIS. Representing the Korean side were Mr. Samsoo Kim, Trade Representative (Director General), Commercial Section, Embassy of the Republic of Korea, and Mr. Edward Kim, CEO, ACOTE.
Key topics discussed included future collaboration between BASIS and Korea. Mr. Samsoo Kim proposed developing BASIS Korea Desk to enhance cooperation, while Mr. Edward Kim suggested Korean language training through BASIS’s training labs to help overcome the language barrier. He also highlighted Korea’s growing demand for software engineers and the potential opportunities for Bangladeshi professionals.
This meeting marks a significant step toward deeper collaboration and mutual growth between the Bangladeshi and Korean tech sectors.
