Swiss textile machinery manufacturer Benninger has introduced its latest discontinuous dyeing technologies, FabricMaster and SynthMaster, to the Bangladesh textile industry, focusing on resource efficiency, process consistency, and gentle fabric handling.

The technologies were showcased at a technical seminar titled “The sustainable way of discontinuous dyeing: Fast, cost-effective, and zero footprints,” held on 17 September 2026 at Hotel Le Méridien Dhaka. Benninger and its agent for discontinuous dyeing machinery in Bangladesh, Global Hitech, jointly organized the seminar.

More than 120 textile industry professionals attended the event, including representatives from dyeing, finishing, and textile manufacturing companies. The seminar provided an opportunity for industry professionals to learn about the latest developments in discontinuous dyeing and the technologies being developed to address the changing requirements of modern textile production.

With more than 160 years of experience in textile machinery and finishing technologies, Benninger presented FabricMaster and SynthMaster as solutions for dyehouses facing increasingly diverse fabric types, rising resource-efficiency requirements, and the need for consistent quality.

Industry focus on efficient and controlled dyeing

Opening the seminar, Saad Omar Fahim, CEO of Global Hitech, highlighted the growing importance of reducing water and energy consumption in Bangladesh’s textile processing sector while maintaining productivity and product quality. He said that investment in advanced machinery alone is not enough to achieve sustainable improvements at factory level. He added that technical expertise, proper machine operation, after-sales service, and long-term industry partnerships are equally important.

“Bangladesh’s dyeing industry is facing increasing pressure to improve resource efficiency without compromising quality and productivity. Technologies such as FabricMaster and SynthMaster can support this transition, but their real value comes when advanced machinery is combined with technical knowledge, proper application and continuous support,” Fahim said. He also highlighted FabricMaster’s relevance for versatile, efficient processing, while SynthMaster has been developed to address the challenges associated with sensitive synthetic, blended, and performance fabrics.

Addressing the challenges of modern fabrics

The technical sessions were conducted by Rolf Erik Schoeler, Global Head of Sales & Marketing at Benninger, and Henning Frank, Regional Sales Director (Asia), Benninger.

Rolf Erik Schoeler discussed the changing requirements of textile dyehouses as manufacturers increasingly process a wider range of materials, including polyester, elastane, regenerated cellulosic fibers, recycled polyester, microfibres and other sensitive fabrics alongside conventional cotton products. He explained that different fabric constructions require different approaches to fabric transport and dyeing. Excessive tension, compression or mechanical movement can lead to issues such as creasing, rope marks, elongation and uneven dyeing.

“Today’s dyehouses are working with a much wider range of fabrics than before. This requires machinery that can provide controlled fabric movement while maintaining consistent dyeing performance. Our focus with these technologies is to combine fabric care, productivity and resource efficiency in one system,” Schoeler said. He also highlighted Benninger’s approach to automation and process control, which enables important process parameters to be managed more consistently and stored through recipe-based operation.

Henning Frank, Regional Sales Director (Asia), Benninger, explained how gentle fabric handling has become increasingly important as textile manufacturers expand into more complex fabric categories. “With sensitive fabrics, fabric transport is a critical part of the dyeing process. Excessive tension, stretching, or compression can affect fabric appearance and quality. SynthMaster has been developed to provide smoother and more controlled fabric transport, particularly for materials that require careful handling,” Frank said. He added that the machine incorporates Benninger’s Smartflow variable nozzle and integrated self-cleaning filtration system. According to Benninger, SynthMaster is designed to deliver high color levelness, with an RFT rate above 99%.

FabricMaster: The Fastest and Most Versatile Jet in the Industry

Built for both knitted and woven fabrics, FabricMaster handles cotton, viscose, Modal, Tencel, polyester, polyamide and Lycra blends with a robust, reliable design engineered for lowest-cost, rope-mark-free dyeing across everything from heat-set polyester sportswear to heavy cotton jersey.

  • Liquor ratio: approximately 1:4 for cellulosic fabrics, 1:3 for synthetics
  • Temperature: up to 140°C
  • Capacity: 50 kg to 2,000 kg

A high wrapping angle keeps fabric lift and stretch to a minimum, supported by Benninger’s Smartflow variable nozzle, an elbow plaiter and a double-conical storage chamber that reduce compression during transport. A 100% inbuilt self-cleaning filter, integrated into the liquor circulation system, cuts downtime from manual cleaning, while recipe-based automation of liquor ratio, filling, rinsing and cooling improves repeatability and reduces variation between operators. At the seminar, Benninger showcased its controlled-rinsing approach, demonstrating how water use can be reduced without sacrificing wash performance.

SynthMaster: A New Standard in Horizontal Jet Dyeing

Designed for sensitive synthetic, blended, and difficult-to-process fabrics, SynthMaster delivers smooth, tension-free transport for materials such as nylon-elastane, viscose-wool, and non-heat-set polyester, achieving compression-crease-free results with an RFT (right-first-time) rate above 99%.

  • Liquor ratio: approximately 1:6 for synthetics, 1:8 for cellulosics
  • Temperature: up to 140°C
  • Capacity: 150 kg, 300 kg or 450 kg configurations (one, two or three ports)

Applications span knitted and woven polyester and polyamide, non-heat-set polyester and polyamide, microfibres, wool, viscose, Modal, Tencel and Lycra blends. Like FabricMaster, SynthMaster incorporates a high wrapping angle, Smartflow variable nozzle and integrated self-cleaning filtration to minimize lift, stretch and compression features especially valuable for fabrics prone to creasing or dimensional instability under mechanical stress.

Automation and resource efficiency gain importance

The seminar also highlighted the growing role of automation and process control in discontinuous dyeing. Automated liquor management, recipe-based processing, controlled rinsing and integrated filtration can help dyehouses improve process consistency while reducing dependence on manual intervention. For Bangladesh’s textile industry, these technologies are particularly relevant as manufacturers seek to manage water, energy and chemical consumption while responding to the growing demand for synthetic, regenerated, recycled and blended textile products.

The event also strengthened the technical partnership between Benninger and Global Hitech in Bangladesh. Through the partnership, the companies aim to give local textile manufacturers access to advanced discontinuous dyeing technologies, along with technical and application support. The introduction of FabricMaster and SynthMaster marks another step in bringing Benninger’s latest dyeing solutions to Bangladesh, with a focus on efficient resource use, process control, productivity, and the gentle handling of increasingly diverse fabrics.
