Desk Report: BEPZA has signed land lease agreements for the first time with 4 foreign & local companies to set up industries in BEPZA Economic Zone on 19 march at BEPZA Complex, Dhaka. 3 fully foreign owned companies and a Bangladeshi company have signed the agreements. They will invest US$ 50 million and create employment opportunities for 23,453 Bangladeshi nationals.
Dr. Ahmad Kaikaus, Principal Secretary to the Honourable Prime Minister was the chief guest of the signing ceremony. In presence of Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman, ndc, psc, Executive Chairman of BEPZA, Shaikh Yusuf Harun, Executive Chairman of BEZA and members of BEPZA Member (Investment Promotion) Ali Reza Mazid signed the agreements with four pioneer investors of BEPZA EZ.
On the other side, Mr. Jagath Priyantha, Director of a Sri Lankan apparel factory M/s Univogue Garments Company Limited, Mr. He Zaiqun, Chairman of a Chinese Shoe accessories and packaging items industry M/s Fengqun Composite Material Co., (BD) Ltd., Shahadat Musharraf Khan, Representative of a USA owned camping equipments plant M/s Campex (BD) Limited & Abul kalam Sikder, Managing Director of a Bangladeshi garments accessories & paper conversion company M/s TexTrim Labels (BD) Limited signed the agreements on behalf of their respective organizations. The process of establishing industries in BEPZA Economic Zone at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpa Nagar starts officially by signing these agreements.
Among others, High officials of PMO, investors of EPZ’s enterprises, Executive Directors of BEPZA, Project Director of BEPZA EZ, Project Director of RJP and senior officers of BEPZA were present in the program
