In an important development, the BGBA delegation had the privilege of meeting with the newly appointed Chairman of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) yesterday at the NBR Head Office. The meeting provided a valuable opportunity to discuss critical issues such as Advance Income Tax (AIT), customs clearance charges for sample yardage and trims from the airport, among other significant matters.

The discussions were notably productive, leaving both parties optimistic about the potential progress that can be achieved through ongoing collaboration. The BGBA team is excited about the positive outcomes that are expected to arise from this engagement.
Looking forward, the BGBA has been invited to participate in the upcoming pre-budget meeting with all stakeholders and will also attend the post-budget dinner with the Chief Advisor/Prime Minister. These future engagements are anticipated to further strengthen the partnership and address key industry concerns.
Stay tuned for more updates as the BGBA continues to work towards positive change in the industry. The next meeting is scheduled in a few weeks, and we will keep you informed of the latest developments.
