The election of the Bangladesh Garments Buying House Association (BGBA) for the term 2024-2026 will be held on 2nd March 2024. ‘Buyer’s Council’ one of the pivotal panel that represents a collective of passionate Buying House Owners host a press conference to introduce panel members and unbox the election manifesto on 18 February at Holiday Inn Dhaka City Center. Representatives of different electronic and print media were present at the conference. Kazi Iftequer Hossain the panel leader was the key speaker while all the panel members of the upcoming election were also present.
The panel leader, Kazi Iftequer Hossain, CEO Total Apparel informed the media ” The contribution of Bangladesh apparel export through Buying House is more than USD 8 billion so to enhance Buying House activities the upcoming BGBA election is very important. The panel ‘Buyer’s Council’ serve as a platform for knowledge sharing, networking, and professional and personal development and leadership cultivation. He urged the BGBA members to vote Buyer’s Council with full panel for transformative changes”
He introduced all the panel members in front of the media and readout the election manifesto.
BGBA election 2024-2026 Buyer’s Council – Election manifesto
1.To enhance transparency and efficiency, we’ll revamp the entire BGBA office, including HR, IT, and implementing a robust database system to secure member logins. Additionally, we’ll streamline membership and renewal processes to ensure member satisfaction.
2.We’ll lower AIT by declaring the Buying House into a Trade Exporter by adjusting fiscal and taxation policy of Govt. accordingly.
3.Through negotiations with Bangladesh Bank, policy changes will enable Buying Houses to retain foreign currency in their own accounts, which later can be used for further business expansion.
4.Professional skill development will be facilitated through a partnership with the Bank Training Institute.
5.To improve the standard of our QA, we will arrange training program in
partnership with international organizations.
