BGBA Election: Buyers Council hosts Gulshan Zone Members Meet

Desk Report: The election of the Bangladesh Garments Buying House Association (BGBA) for the term 2024-2026 will be held on 2nd March 2024.

On behalf of the election, one of the dynamic panels named Buyers Council hosted a get-together Where Baridhara, Gulshan, Banani, and Bashundhara zone-buying house owners were present. More than 300+ BGBA members from the Gulshan zone were present on 22 January at Gulshan Club in the capital.

“Buyer’s Council” already started their election Campaign, under the leadership of Panel Leader BGBA Ex-President, Mr Kazi Iftequer Hossain. BUYER’s Council platforms has already started an election campaign.

At the event, the leaders exchanged views on the present situation of the Garments Industry & Buying Business. And how our Panel can work together in an organized way to move forward to RMG business.

Addressing the session, Kyaw Sein Thay (Dolly), Managing Director, Cloths R Us Limited highlighted the current status of the RMG Sector and upcoming industry challenges. Where Kazi Aminul Islam, EX GS of BGBA, shared the success story of past boards and challenges and future planning.

We are looking forward to all your full support of our Panel “The Buyer’s Council.” Together we want to build BGBA stronger. Then inshallah our Industry will be moved forward, he added.

At the event. Mr. Iftekhar Khan MD of Kleider Sourcing Ltd, Rajib Kamrul Islam, Managing Director of Allure Sourcing Ltd, Israt Jahan, Managing Director of Apparel Resource BD, Shagufta Newaz, Chairman of N2N Sourcing, Mr. Emdadul Haque Miazi, Partner Kiwi Fashion were spoke the event. The speaker’s BGBA upcoming elected board will work together by engaging all brand liaison offices apparel trade bodies and government for industry development.

In the member’s opinion, BGBA members urged the following points to the upcoming board and Advisers::1.Needs newly Experienced & Young Directors by-election
2. Ensuring member’s facilities & activists
3. Need to develop BGBA constitution
4. Training & development for BGBA members company.
5. Need incentives from govt for export. and reducing  AIT Tax
6. BGBA’s own office needs.
7. Ensuring buying service charges from the factory.
8. Need to have good relations work with RMG trade bodies and Brands office.
9. Improve negotiation power for ensuring the right fair price from the buyer.10. Branding BGBA to local and international with seminars, exhibitions, etc..
BGBA is one of the top trading houses for buying houses in the readymade garments (RMG) sector of Bangladesh. BGBA was approved by the Director of Trade Organizations (DTO) of the Ministry of Commerce, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. The association is a vibrant member of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI).

Bangladesh Garments Buying House Association acts as a protection for all buying houses in the country. The association wants to fulfill the hopes and aspirations of its members. At present, the general membership of BGBA is 1500+. It is the desperate and earnest effort of some enterprising members to further strengthen and strengthen the bonds between the members of the BGBA.
