The Bangladesh Garment Buying House Association (BGBA) is strengthening Bangladesh’s connection with international apparel markets by creating new opportunities for global buyers and local manufacturers.

At the PTAK Expo in Łódź, Poland, BGBA members are representing Bangladesh’s buying house community, engaging with potential buyers, showcasing the country’s sourcing capabilities and building valuable business relationships.
Under the leadership of Md. Abdul Hamid, President of BGBA, the association is working to further strengthen the role of buying houses in connecting Bangladesh’s apparel industry with international markets. BGBA’s current leadership for the 2026–28 term is focused on expanding the sector’s global reach and creating new opportunities for its members.
Buying houses play a vital role in connecting international buyers with Bangladeshi manufacturers. Their responsibilities extend beyond sourcing, encompassing market identification, buyer communication, product development, sourcing coordination, negotiation and order follow-up. Through these activities, buying houses help convert international demand into tangible business opportunities for Bangladesh’s apparel industry.
The initiative also aligns with the broader vision of Bangladesh’s apparel industry leadership. Mohammad Hatem, President of the Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA), has emphasized the importance of expanding Bangladesh’s global market base, strengthening competitiveness and enhancing international collaboration.
For BGBA, participation in international trade platforms is not simply about showcasing Bangladesh’s products. It is an opportunity to promote the country as a reliable sourcing destination, strengthen buyer confidence, explore new markets and establish pathways for future export growth.
The Polish market offers promising opportunities for Bangladesh’s apparel sector, particularly through stronger relationships with European buyers and greater visibility among sourcing communities across the region.
Through the collective efforts of BGBA and its members, the association is working to expand Bangladesh’s global sourcing network and create sustainable business opportunities for the country’s apparel industry.
From building connections to creating opportunities, BGBA is working to take Bangladesh’s apparel business into new markets and strengthen its position in the global sourcing landscape.
The association’s participation in Poland reflects Bangladesh’s broader ambition to diversify export markets, deepen relationships with international buyers and reinforce the country’s position as a trusted partner in the global apparel supply chain.
Bangladesh is ready to connect, collaborate and grow with the world.
