For the 5th consecutive year, BGMEA actively participated in the UN Responsible Business and Human Rights Forum, reaffirming its continued engagement in advancing responsible business and human rights across Bangladesh’s RMG industry.

This year, Ms. Sheikh Shuchita Jahan Sneha, Coordinator, BGMEA Center of Excellence & Responsible Business Hub, presented BGMEA’s ESG Data Disclosure Platform, highlighting how the platform is being developed as an industrial decision-making tool to strengthen data-driven understanding and support the industry’s way forward.
In the Closing Plenary, Ms. Sneha highlighted BGMEA’s commitment to responsible business and human rights through the establishment of a dedicated Responsible Business Hub, supported by GIZ and other development partners, while also recognising the leadership of BGMEA and its commitment to building a more resilient, responsible and competitive industry.

Ms. Tahmina Naznin Suravi, Assistant Secretary, Responsible Business Hub, BGMEA, also joined the Forum and contributed to the delegation’s engagement throughout the program.
The initiative is led by Sheikh H. M. Mustafiz, Director, BGMEA, and chaired by Wasim Zakariah, Chairman, Standing Committee, Responsible Business Hub & Sustainability Reporting, BGMEA.

Our sincere appreciation to GIZ, the Royal Danish Embassy, and all other development partners and stakeholders for their continued support and collaboration in advancing responsible business and human rights in Bangladesh’s RMG sector.
