BGMEA, BIDEC discussed to explore innovative solutions for improving energy efficiency in RMG sector

BGMEA Vice President Ms. Vidiya Amrit Khan met representatives from BIDEC to explore innovative solutions for improving energy efficiency within the RMG sector.
BIDEC presented their approach to upcycling conventional ceiling fans into energy-efficient BLDC fans, enabling industries to significantly reduce electricity consumption, minimize e-waste, and lower carbon emissions through simple yet impactful upgrades.
During the discussion, Ms. Khan highlighted that solutions which optimize energy use without requiring full equipment replacement could provide practical pathways for industry-wide energy optimization and decarbonization. She noted that such initiatives would be welcome for further exploration, particularly if supported by data-driven results demonstrating measurable efficiency gains.
BGMEA continues to encourage innovative and scalable technologies that contribute to the sector’s sustainability and low-carbon transition.
