BGMEA Director Imranur Rahman Participates in 112th International Labour Conference

Mr. Imranur Rahman, Director of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) and Managing Director of Laila Group, is representing Bangladesh at the 112th International Labour Conference. The conference, taking place from June 3 to 14, gathers labor leaders, policymakers, and industry representatives from around the world to discuss and shape global labor standards.

In his address, Mr. Imranur Rahman highlighted the significant progress of ongoing projects in the Ready-Made Garment (RMG) sector of Bangladesh. These projects, jointly implemented by the International Labour Organization (ILO) and BGMEA, aim to enhance workplace safety, workers’ rights, and sustainable practices within the industry.

Expressing gratitude for the ILO’s continuous support, Mr. Imranur Rahman emphasized the positive impact of their collaboration on the Bangladesh garment sector. He noted that these initiatives have not only improved working conditions but also bolstered the sector’s global competitiveness.

The 112th International Labour Conference serves as a crucial platform for advancing labor rights and promoting sustainable development across various industries. Mr. Imranur Rahman’s participation underscores Bangladesh’s commitment to upholding international labor standards and fostering a more equitable and resilient garment sector.
