The BGMEA Padel Cup, organized for the first time under the initiative of the current Board of Directors of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), began today. BGMEA Acting President Inamul Haq Khan inaugurated the two-day tournament at the Bashundhara Padel Tennis Ground in Dhaka.
BGMEA has organized this sports competition with an aim to strengthen the bonds among members of the garment industry.
In attendance at the inaugural ceremony were BGMEA Vice President Vidiya Amrit Khan, other members of the Board of Directors, participating players, and the Managing Director of United Commercial Bank Ltd.
BGMEA Acting President Inamul Haq Khan delivered the welcome address, followed by remarks from Director Shah Rayeed Chowdhury who played a pivotal role in organizing the tournament.
The opening ceremony was conducted by Md. Shajjad Ali Khan, Chairman of the Sports Committee at BGMEA.
BGMEA members and their family members are competing in two categories — Beginner and Advanced. Participating Board Directors include Shah Rayeed Chowdhury, Nafis-ud-Doula, Joarder Mohammad Hosne Quamar Alam, Asef Kamal Pasha, Mohammed Sohel, and Sakeef Ahmed Salam.

Following the inauguration, the group-stage matches began with great enthusiasm. The qualifying teams will compete in the semifinals and finals tomorrow.
A significant number of BGMEA members were present at the venue to enjoy the group-stage matches.
