BGMEA President stressed the need for strengthening partnerships between retailers and BD Suppliers

Desk Report: During their tour to the Inditex head office in Spain, the BGMEA delegation members had discussions about different issues pertaining to the apparel industry, including global trends, potential, challenges and opportunities.

BGMEA President Faruque Hassan along with BGMEA Directors Tanvir Ahmed and Abdullah Hil Rakib along with Giant Group Director Sharmeen Hassan Tithi exchanged views with Indalecio Perez and Luis Coloma Yepes Social and Environmental Sustainability Department of Infitex.

In the meeting, the issue of sustainability also got due importance as sustainable fashion industry is now a common goal for the stakeholders including retailers and suppliers.

The commitments, goals and strategies of Inditex in the area of sustainability were shared during the discussion while the BGMEA delegation shared the exemplary progress made by Bangladesh’s garment industry in the area of sustainability.

BGMEA President Faruque Hassan stressed the need for strengthening partnerships between retailers and Bangladeshi suppliers, especially SME in working on sustainability issues.
