BGMEA targets $100 bn apparel export by 2030

BGMEA unveils new logo

Desk Report: Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) targets exporting $100 billion worth garment items from the country by 2030.

During the period, the sector is also expected to create employment for a total of 6.0 million people ensuring 100 per cent gender equality and inclusive and decent workplace

The garment makers’ platform also unveiled its new logo with the slogan of ‘Change’, which represents innovation, circularity and green initiative on 5 July at a hotel in the capital.

Speaker of the parliament Dr Shirin Sharmin was present there as chief guest and also launched the trade body’s new logo.BGMEA president Faruque Hassan, former president Abdus Salam Murshedy and its current board members were also present at the event.

Ready Made Garments sector, the highest earners of the export receipts, earned $42.6 billion in the FY22, fetching a y-o-y growth of 35.47%, which was $31.45 billion in the last fiscal.
