BGMEA Vice President Vidiya Amrit Khan participated as a panellist at the Just Transition Convention Bangladesh 2025, held on September 24, 2025, at The Westin Dhaka.

The convention was jointly organized by the Bangladesh Labour Foundation (BLF) and the Bangladesh Institute of Labour Studies (BILS) under the theme “Uniting for a Just and Fair Future.”

Participating as one of the key panelists, BGMEA Vice President Vidiya Amrit Khan emphasized the necessity of a “Just Transition” that is inclusive, fair, and built upon the combined efforts of brands, workers, and trade unions.

She highlighted that the concept of Just Transition goes beyond environmental goals, it represents a commitment to ensuring equity, social dialogue, and shared responsibility as industries move toward decarbonization, circularity and sustainability.

She also reaffirmed BGMEA’s commitment to fostering a circular transformation of the RMG sector, aligning with the association’s Sustainability Vision and climate action roadmap.

The convention brought together leading policymakers, trade union leaders, development partners, and industry representatives to deliberate on how Bangladesh can align its industrial growth with global climate and social justice goals.
