BKMEA, Federal Association for Economic Development and Foreign Trade (BWA), Germany sign MoU to expand bilateral trade relations.

Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) and the Federal Association for Economic Development and Foreign Trade (BWA), have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster collaboration in areas related to economic development, trade relations, and various initiatives aimed at advancing the knitwear manufacturing and export sector. 

The German Federal Association for Economic Development and Foreign Trade (BWA) is one of the largest associations of medium and large businesses in Germany. The Association is present in 80 countries, with the majority of the embassies situated in Berlin being members of the organization.

This partnership aims to recognize the immense possibilities of promoting economic and commercial cooperation between the business bodies from Germany and Bangladesh under joint ventures.

A team of BKMEA delegation along with Tapan Kanti Ghosh, the senior secretary of the Ministry of Commerce visited to Berlin, Germany to attend a meeting with the Federal Association for Economic Development and Foreign Trade in Berlin, Germany. Representatives from BKMEA were Mohammad Hatem, the Executive President; Fazlee Shamim Ehsan, Vice President; Mohammad Rashed, Amal Podder and Md. Shamsuzzaman.

The concept of this MOU was initiated by Md. Saiful Islam, Minister (Commercial) from the Bangladesh Embassy in Berlin.

The signing ceremony was held in Berlin, Germany on 28th August. 

Federal Managing Director of BWA in Germany and Fazlee Shamim Ehsan, Vice President of BKMEA signed the MoU on behalf of their respective sides on Monday at the Berlin BWA office.

During the signing, Shamim Ehsan said that this collaboration helped both the association to share knowledge and go further In positive directions.

On the other hand, Michael Schumann, BWA Board Chairman thanks BKMEA for the singing and wishes that business relations between the two esteemed organizations will be strengthened, which will help members smooth the business.

Mohammad Hatem expected that this MOU will ameliorate the future of Bangladesh’s knitwear industry and its exports to Germany.

Mr. Tapan wishes that through this partnership, both BKMEA and BWA Germany are poised to create a win-win situation that benefits the economy of the two countries, the knitwear industry, and the bilateral relationship between the two countries.

Mr. Saiful, Minister (Commercial) closed the ceremony with a vote of thanks.
