The Japan-Bangladesh Society hosted the “38th Corporate Information Exchange Meeting,” where nearly 200 participants attended physically and over 100 joined online from various Japanese corporate and business houses.

Notable attendees included Mohammad Hatem, President of BKMEA & EAB; Mr. Masato Watanabe, President of The Japan-Bangladesh Society; Mr. Yamada Tetsuya, Director General, South Asia Department, JICA; Mr. Kazuiki Kataoka, Country Head, JETRO Bangladesh; Former Country Head Mr. Ando Yuji; Mr. Okamoto Kataoka, Assistant Director, METI; Former Japanese Ambassador to Bangladesh Mr. Hiroyashi Izumi; a Member of the Japanese Parliament; Mr. Hiraishi San, Chairman of Maruhisha Pacific Co.; along with senior officials from various companies.
During the event, JICA’s Director and JETRO’s Country Head shared an in-depth analysis of Bangladesh’s political and socioeconomic landscape, current business and trade environment, challenges related to corruption and bribery in business operations, and insights on LDC graduation and its implications.
