A blanket distribution program was arranged on 21st January 2019 (Monday) by “Prayas”, the social and voluntary organization of Shahid Abdur Rab Serniabat Textile Engineering College, at campus compound. Principal Engr Md. Mozibur Rahman was the chief guest of the program. Besides, Chief Instructor Md. Nazrul Islam, Assistant Prof. & Advisor of ‘Prayas’ Md. M.M. Aiyub Hussein, Assistant Prof. Engr Nayan Chandra Gosh, Assistant Prof. Md. Selim Akter, Advisor of ‘Prayas’ Md. Saifuddin Khan, Lecturer Ashima Mallik, Lecturer Engr Md. Zahid Muarad Shuva, Lecturer Engr Pronoy Halder were also present.
Under the chairmanship of Md. Moniruzzaman Monir, president of ‘Prayas’,150 blankets and some old clothes were distributed among the poor & needy people. All the committee members of the “Prayas” and the students of the college were also present then. On the eve of the program, students distributed tokens for blanket collection among the helpless & needy people of Barishal city in the mid night of 18-20 January 2019, so that only the needy people can be benefited.
In addition, ‘Prayas’ distributed more 50 blankets and winter clothes in an orphanage in the city, on the next afternoon. The members of the “Prayas” team seem very fortunate to be able to help the poor & needy people. This is the 3rd time, ‘Prayas’ is standing beside the poor people with blankets. “This effort of humanity will be continued for the helpless people”, said the president of ‘Prayas’, Md.
