Kemin will maintain partnership with Blue Fever to support continuity of Garmon’s high-quality products and services
Blue Fever Group, a global provider of sustainable solutions for denim and garment finishing, has acquired Garmon®, which provides chemical solutions for the denim and fashion industry, from Kemin Industries, a global ingredient manufacturer that strives to sustainably transform the quality of life every day for 80 percent of the world with its products and services. Kemin and Blue Fever will continue to share operations of Garmon to ensure a consistent, high-quality product for customers.
The acquisition of Garmon represents a significant milestone in Blue Fever Group’s global expansion strategy, strengthening its position in the international denim and garment-finishing market while reinforcing its ongoing commitment to innovation, performance, and sustainability.
As part of the transaction, Kemin will transfer ownership of the Garmon brand, products, technologies, and patents to Blue Fever. Kemin will continue to oversee the manufacturing and quality control of Garmon products, maintaining the same high standards associated with its textile auxiliaries business. This continued collaboration ensures customers worldwide receive the consistent, high-quality products and services they expect from Garmon. As part of the agreement, all product formulations, technical and manufacturing specifications, operating processes, quality assurance systems, and existing certifications will stay the same.
“With Garmon’s strong legacy as a pioneer in product quality, innovation, and responsible practices within the apparel industry, we are proud to welcome it into the Blue Fever Group portfolio,” said Max Lee, President, Blue Fever Group. “By continuing our collaboration with Kemin Industries—renowned for its science-based solutions and technical expertise—we will further expand its innovative solutions to an even broader range of leading fashion brands worldwide.”
Kemin acquired Garmon Chemicals in 2018 to enter the textile auxiliaries market after recognizing its adjacent technologies to the company’s existing portfolio of research and products. With a shared foundation in molecular science, Kemin’s ownership of Garmon—a recognized leader in the R&D and marketing of total chemical solutions, innovation, and creativity for the denim and apparel industry—expanded the business unit’s product suite and global footprint.
“We’ve been proud to continue the Garmon legacy of R&D and innovation as part of Kemin for the past eight years, and we believe Blue Fever offers an opportunity to enhance customer and market continuity, bringing the brand to a greater audience,” said Dr. Chris Nelson, President and CEO, Kemin Industries. “We look forward to our continued partnership with Blue Fever as we work together to bring our shared focus on providing the best products and services to Garmon customers.”
With a shared customer-centric mindset grounded in operational excellence, the cooperation of Kemin and Blue Fever will allow for a smooth transition of Garmon without any disruption to customer service, products, or quality expectations.
