The National Institute of Textile Engineering and Research (NITER) hosted a day-long career-focused event titled ‘Thrive 2026’ on September 5, 2026, organized by the NITER Career Club (NCrC), with the aim of bridging the gap between academic life and professional careers and preparing students for the evolving job market.

The event featured NITER National Job Fest, along with the final rounds of the Case Catalyst and Public Speaking competitions. Students from schools, colleges, and universities across the country participated in the competitions.

Shawkat Aziz Russell, President of the Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA), attended the event as the Chief Guest, while Shorikul Islam Sarker, Vice President of BTMA, was present as the Special Guest. The Director of NITER, along with HR professionals and representatives from several reputed organizations, also attended.

The first segment of the day featured the final rounds of the Case Catalyst and Public Speaking competitions. Participants demonstrated their abilities through real-world problem analysis, logical argumentation, creative thinking, and effective communication.

A major attraction of ‘Thrive 2026’ was the NITER National Job Fest, where students and graduates could submit their CVs to participating organizations. The job fair also gave job seekers the opportunity to interact directly with HR representatives and discuss career opportunities, recruitment processes, and professional development.

Sharing insights on CV preparation and job readiness, Md. Rajin, Executive – HR at Square, emphasized the importance of proper CV alignment and ATS-friendly resumes. He said, “What is more important than what is written in a CV is the alignment of the CV. Currently, an ATS-friendly CV is very important.”

Highlighting the importance of skills beyond academic qualifications, Noor-E-Saba Ishita, HR at Ha-Meem Group, said, “Alongside academic studies, it is essential to develop various soft skills, which can give you an advantage in the job market.”

The closing segment of the event included the presentation of appreciation crests to various club partners, media partners, and participating organizations in recognition of their support and contribution to the successful organization of ‘Thrive 2026’.

The day-long program concluded with an engaging fashion show, organized by the NITER Fashion Club, adding a vibrant dimension to the closing session.

Through career competitions, direct interaction with industry professionals, recruitment opportunities, and discussions on professional skills, ‘Thrive 2026’ provided students with valuable exposure to the realities of the job market and served as a meaningful bridge from academic life to professional careers.
