BSCIC, BUFT Join Hands to Establish National Fashion Design Center

The Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) and BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) have initiated a collaborative effort to establish a National Fashion Design Center and create a National Pool of Designers to strengthen Bangladesh’s fashion and apparel industry.

During a meeting held on July 8, 2026, at BUFT’s permanent campus, representatives from BSCIC, BUFT, and the Ministry of Industries discussed advancing industry-academia collaboration to promote design innovation, research, skill development, and technology-driven solutions, particularly for small and cottage industries.

The proposed center aims to enhance Bangladesh’s global competitiveness by fostering a sustainable and innovation-driven fashion design ecosystem while creating new opportunities for students, researchers, designers, and industry professionals.
