BTMA urged the Govt to withdraw the recent proposal of increase the tariff of gas & electricity

Desk Report: A Press Conference was held at 21st May 2022 at FBCCI. The main objective of the Press Conference was to recent move of the Government relating to increasing the Gas and Electricity tariff abnormally. Mr Md. Jashim Uddin, President of FBCCI presented the main paper on the issue. In his statement, he stated that considering the present crisis any increase in the tariff of Gas & Electricity will be disastrous for the sector. As such Govt. should refrain to implement its proposal that any increase in the Gas & Electricity tariff.

During the Press conference, Mr Mohammad Ali Khokon President of BTMA urged the government to withdraw the recent proposal of increasing the tariff of gas & electricity showing the reason that Patrobangla and the authority concerned has already collected a huge amount on various form from the consumer.
In such cases, they should be adjusted gas prices which will not be required. He opined that if the Govt. move is implemented the overall Textile & RMG will be Jeopardy. The leaders of other organizations requested the govt for not to increase the tariff of gas & electricity. The Vice president & a good number of the Board of Directors of BTMA attended the Conference.
