The Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA) expresses its sincere gratitude to the Honorable Prime Minister of Bangladesh, the Honorable Finance Minister, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Commerce and all concerned government authorities for increasing the Alternative Cash Assistance for export-oriented domestic textile products from 1.5% to 5% in lieu of the duty bond and duty drawback facilities.

This landmark policy decision reflects the Government’s strong commitment to strengthening Bangladesh’s textile sector and is the outcome of BTMA’s sustained policy advocacy, constructive engagement and a series of high-level consultations with the Government.
Under the visionary leadership of Mr. Showkat Aziz Russell, President of BTMA and with the unwavering support of the BTMA Board of Directors, the BTMA consistently advocated for this incentive to enhance domestic value addition, promote the use of locally produced yarn and fabrics produced from local yarn, strengthen the backward linkage industry and improve Bangladesh’s global export competitiveness.
BTMA believes this timely measure will encourage investment, generate employment, increase value addition and further accelerate the sustainable growth of Bangladesh’s textile and apparel industry.
BTMA extends its heartfelt appreciation to the Honorable Prime Minister, the Honorable Finance Minister and all concerned government officials for their continued support and partnership in advancing the nation’s textile sector.
