BUFT and GarmentTechBD Sign MoU to Boost Industry-Academia Partnership

BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) and the Academy of Garments Technology Bangladesh (GarmentTechBD) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 10 July 2025 to enhance collaboration in research, capacity building, and professional development.

The agreement focuses on organizing BD Case Competitions, workshops, certified courses, internships, and international events to bridge academic and industry needs. BUFT students will enjoy free access to GarmentTechBD’s resources, including memberships, training, and publishing opportunities.

The MoU was signed by Mr. Faruque Hassan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, BUFT, and Dr. Henry Soo, Strategic Partner, GarmentTechBD. Representing BUFT at the ceremony were Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, Acting Vice Chancellor; Prof. Dr. Alamgir Hossain, Treasurer; and Prof. Dr. Engr. Mohammed Rubaiyat Chowdhury, Dean of the Faculty of Apparel Studies. From GarmentTechBD, Mr. Abdus Salam, Adviser, and Mr. Md. Panna Rahman, Project Leader, were also in attendance. The three-year partnership marks a step forward in aligning education with the evolving demands of the fashion and garments sector.
