BUFT and PMI Sign MoU to Enhance Industry–Academia Collaboration

BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) and Professional Management Institute (PMI) signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 25 November 2025. This partnership aims to strengthen cooperation in training, research, industry exposure, and skill development within Bangladesh’s RMG, Textile, Fashion, and Merchandising sectors.

Key Highlights of the MoU

Academic & Training Collaboration

PMI will conduct specialized training sessions for BUFT students on Apparel Merchandising, Digital Marketing, AI for Apparel Professionals, and English Proficiency.

BUFT students will receive a 30% discount on all PMI courses.

Research & Resource Sharing

Both institutions will jointly work on apparel industry–focused research.

BUFT will provide access to its laboratories, library, and academic guidance, while PMI will support through MBABD’s industry network.

Industry Exposure

PMI will arrange Smart Industry Trips every semester, giving students and faculty hands-on exposure to top garment factories and real production environments.

Internship & Career Development

BUFT students will receive a minimum of two internship opportunities each semester at PMI and Fashion24.

Additional support will include career guidance, CV improvement, and job reference assistance.

Duration

The MoU will remain valid for five (5) years and may be renewed upon mutual agreement.
