BUFT Hosts Seminar on Industrial Revolution through Textile Backward Industries

The Career Development Center (CDC) of BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) hosted a seminar titled “Industrial Revolution through Textile Backward Industries” on April 13, 2026, bringing together academic leaders and industry professionals to explore the future of Bangladesh’s textile sector. The session was presided over by the Honorable Vice Chancellor (Designated), Prof. Dr. Ayub Nabi Khan, while Mr. Md. Abul Kalam Azad, Director of Operations at ARMADA Spinning Mills Limited, delivered the keynote address, offering insightful perspectives on the sector’s evolving landscape.

The seminar featured prominent industry figures as Special Guests, including Engr. Nure Alam Siddique, Managing Director of Zittex Textile Mills Limited, Engr. A S M Hafizur Rahman Nixon, Executive Director of RH Corporation, and Mr. Nazrul Islam, General Manager of Malek Spinning Mills Limited. The discussion emphasized the critical role of backward linkage industries particularly spinning and raw material processing in shaping the next phase of industrial growth in Bangladesh, while also addressing global challenges, opportunities in sustainable manufacturing, and strategies for maintaining international competitiveness.

In his presidential remarks, Prof. Dr. Ayub Nabi Khan highlighted the importance of stronger industry-academia collaboration to equip students with practical skills and strategic insight. The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session attended by faculty members and a large number of students, reaffirming BUFT’s commitment to academic excellence and professional development.
