BUFT Hosts Seminar on Sustainability and Student Engagement

BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) held an engaging seminar titled โ€œLeading the Future Through Sustainabilityโ€ on 29 July 2025 at the BUFT Multipurpose Hall, bringing together students and faculty for a day of insightful learning and inspiration.

The event began with an insightful address by Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Jalil, Dean of the Faculty of Sciences and Faculty of Textile Engineering. A major highlight was the interactive and heartfelt session by Mr. Md. Ziaur Rahman, CEO of Sustainable Certification Services (SSTechno Sys Ltd.), who energized the crowd with his unique approach, turning the talk into a conversation and even inviting a spontaneous group hug to illustrate unity. A fun quiz competition followed, with students from TE, ES, and AMT departments winning prizes.

Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, Acting Vice Chancellor, made a special gesture by sitting among students and personally handing over gifts to the guests. His inspiring remarks highlighted BUFTโ€™s focus on sustainability and student-centred learning. Also in attendance were Dr. Ranajit Kumar Nag, Head of Textile Engineering, and Ms. Afrana Anam Any, Lecturer, who was praised for her vital role in organizing the event. The seminar ended on a high note, encouraging students to embrace leadership in building a sustainable future.
