The BUFT Institute of Textile and Apparel Research (BITAR) of BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) organized the BUFT Research Excellence Award & Research Profile Book Launching Ceremony 2025 on August 12, 2026, at the university’s Multipurpose Hall. Prof. Dr. A. B. M. Obaidul Islam, Vice Chancellor of the University of Dhaka, attended as the Chief Guest. Mr. Faruque Hassan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, BUFT, chaired the program, while Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, Vice Chancellor (Designate), BUFT, attended as the Special Guest.
The ceremony recognized outstanding research contributions and academic excellence of BUFT faculty members and researchers. In his address, the Chief Guest emphasized the importance of research and innovation in strengthening higher education and advancing Bangladesh’s textile and apparel industry, and appreciated BUFT’s initiatives in promoting impactful academic and industry-oriented research. The Chairman of the Board of Trustees and distinguished guests congratulated the award recipients and encouraged the university community to pursue greater excellence in research and innovation. Faculty members and officers of BUFT attended the event. The award is a key BITAR initiative to foster a culture of research excellence and contribute to the advancement of textile, apparel, fashion, and related fields.
