BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) made a remarkable impression at the inaugural Global Sourcing Expo–Dhaka 2025, held from 1–3 December at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Centre (BCFEC) in Purbachal.

The event brought together representatives from more than 11 countries and over 100 Bangladeshi companies across major export sectors. Highlighting BUFT’s leadership in sustainability and industry-focused education, Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, Acting Vice Chancellor of BUFT, participated as a panelist in the high-level discussion titled “Green Economy: Bangladesh’s Apparel Journey of Compliance as a Competitive Advantage.” His insights underscored BUFT’s commitment to shaping a compliant, innovative and environmentally responsible apparel industry.
Adding vibrant creative energy to the expo, 75 BUFT students presented their innovative designs in a fashion show at Radisson Blu, reflecting the university’s strong focus on practical, industry-oriented learning. BUFT faculty members and officers also took part in a subsequent fashion show attended by Commerce Adviser Mr. Sk. Bashir Uddin, further elevating the university’s visibility among national policymakers and international buyers. In addition, BUFT actively engaged visitors and global delegates at Fair Stall No. 63, where faculty, officers and students showcased the university’s academic strengths, research capabilities and international partnerships.
Organized by the Export Promotion Bureau and the Ministry of Commerce, the expo featured more than 150 stalls, specialized seminars and B2B meetings aimed at boosting long-term international trade partnerships. BUFT’s active participation reflects its ongoing dedication to advancing Bangladesh’s creative industries, strengthening global linkages and preparing students for leadership in an increasingly competitive global market.
